For our research & development team sugar beet, we are looking for someone to work full-time (40 hours/week) for our headquarters in Schlanstedt as soon as possible:
Senior Sugar Beet Breeder (m/w/d)
Your tasks
- Develop, plan and optimise sugar beet breeding programs
- Lead specific breeding programs
- Collect and analyse phenotypic and genotypic data for selection
- Evaluate and develop breeding schemes
- Active contribution in the hybrid development team and selection of hybrids for official variety testing
- Lead and develop a high performing and innovative breeders team in line with our
- values
- Take an active role in our international R&D team to transform our breeding strategy in reality
- Lead internal projects across departments
- Initiate and supervise external research projects
- Close contact and collaboration to stakeholders in the sugar beet business
Your profile
- PhD in agricultural science, plant breeding, or closely related fields
- Sound experience in plant breeding
- Familiar with quantitative genetics and statistics
- Profound experience in project management and team leading
- Team player and excellent communication skills
- Able to work in a team environment with a strong sense of analysis and development
- Efficient, organised and pragmatic, you are proactive, foresighted and resultoriented
- Your excellent organisation allows you to manage a wide range of projects with multiple stakeholders
- Good interpersonal skills to meet and collaborate with stakeholders
- Frequent international travels, ca. 30% of your time
- Familiar with the use of MS Office and data base programs
- Very good language skills of English, German as plus with the interest in learning other languages
- Driving license of type B
