For our Commercial Breeding department, we are looking for the following position at our R&D site Schlanstedt, Saxony-Anhalt , as soon as possible, on a permanent full-time basis (40 hours/week):

Your responsibilities
· Development and planning of new genetic hybrid combinations for the production of trial seed.
· Evaluation, analysis and interpretation of breeding data in order to develop the best genetic combinations in line with product requirements.
· Selection of new hybrids for variety registration in markets.
· Application and approval/registration of new hybrids in defined markets.
· Implementation of the trial-seed process for registration candidates in defined markets.
· Evaluation, presentation and interpretation of internal and external results.
· Inspection and support of official and internal trials.
· Maintenance and expansion of contacts with authorities and institutions for variety testing and variety approval in the defined countries.
· Development of new hybrid concepts within the sugar beet breeding scheme; preparation and support of implementation together with the relevant interfaces.
· Take an active role in our international R&D team to turn our breeding strategy into reality.
· Management of internal cross-departmental projects.
Your Profile
· Master’s or PhD degree in agricultural sciences, plant breeding, or closely related fields.
· Several years of experience in plant breeding or a closely related area.
· Knowledge of quantitative genetics, breeding methods and breeding schemes is an advantage.
· Familiar with the analysis, evaluation and interpretation of breeding results.
· Sound experience in project management and team leadership.
· Team player with excellent communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills enabling you to manage a wide range of projects with multiple stakeholders.
· Efficient, organized and pragmatic; proactive, forward-looking and results-oriented.
· Good interpersonal and intercultural skills to work purposefully within diverse international stakeholder groups.
· Frequent international travel is not an issue for you (approx. 25% of your time).
· Confident user of MS Office and database programs.
· Very good language skills in English and German, and interest in learning additional languages.
· Category B driving licence.
