Privacy Policy

Strube D&S GmbH (hereinafter: Strube D&S), Hauptstraße 1, 38387 Söllingen, Tel. +49 (0) 5354 809930, is the provider of the app BeetControl.

Data processing and access rights

In the course of using the app, the following personal data will be processed from you:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Location
  • Server log files (browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request, IP address)

The app requires the following permissions in the process:

Location access

We need access to the location of your device. We process your current location via GPS in order to obtain and evaluate data on current field conditions or similar. Your location data is transmitted via an encrypted connection. Your location data is then immediately analysed anonymously for statistical purposes.

Purpose of data processing

Your personal data is processed by means of the BeetControl app for the following purposes:

  • Early detection of leaf diseases in sugar beet
  • Continuous improvement of the algorithms of the analysis software and databases for the operation of the app
  • Collection of monitoring data

 

 

 

Marketing purposes

We may process your personal data for marketing purposes if you have given your explicit consent to do so (cf. Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time using the contact details above.

These marketing purposes are in particular:

  • Dispatch of our newsletter
     

If we process your personal data in the future for other purposes not listed within the context of this privacy policy, we will inform you of this separately in accordance with the legal requirements.

 

Contact form

If you use our contact form and send us an enquiry, your data will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and for any follow-up questions. The data will not be passed on without your consent.

The legal basis for the data processing of the data provided in the contact form is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you have given by ticking the box in the contact form.  You can revoke this consent at any time without giving reasons by sending an e-mail to the above address or electronically (e.g. by e-mail). The legality of the data processing carried out up to the point of revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Enquiry by e-mail, telephone or fax

If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all personal data resulting from it (e.g. name, type of enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.

Registration in the app

You can register in this app to use additional features on the site. We will only use the data entered for this purpose in order to provide the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory data requested during registration must be provided in full. If the mandatory information is not provided in full, registration in the app is not possible.

In the event of important changes, for example in the scope of the offer or technically required changes, we will use the e-mail address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The data entered during registration is processed for the purpose of implementing the user relationship established by registration and, if necessary, for initiating further contracts (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR).

E-commerce and payment providers

We collect, process and use personal data only to the extent that it is required for the establishment, content or modification of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data on the use of this app (usage data) only to the extent required to enable or charge the user for the use of the service.

Storage period

Your personal data collected via the app will be stored for as long as it is required for the purpose of the data processing, for as long as we have a legitimate interest in the data processing or, if you have given your consent, until you revoke it, unless this conflicts with statutory retention periods, such as from the German Commercial Code, the German Fiscal Code or other relevant legal provisions.

Data transfer to third countries

Your data is transferred to third parties for the following purposes:

  • Continuous improvement of the algorithms of the analysis software and databases for the operation of the app.

These third parties are:

  • IT service providers
  • Marketing service providers

 

Your personal data will never be transmitted as clear data, but only pseudonymised/anonymised.

If personal data is transmitted outside the EU, Strube D&S has ensured the protection of your data by means of suitable guarantees.

Data security

We have taken extensive technical and organisational operational security measures to protect the data you have transmitted from unauthorised access as well as misuse by third parties. These measures meet the high legal requirements of national regulations and are always adapted to the current state of the art.

Rights of data subjects

As a data subject, you have the following rights vis-à-vis us according to Art. 15 to 22 GDPR:

•           Right to restrict processing

•           Right to object to the processing

•           Right to data transferability

If you have given us permission to use personal data, you can revoke this permission at any time. To do so, please contact us by e-mail at beetcontrol@strube.net or at datenschutz@strube.net. Alternatively, please inform us of your request by post or by fax.

Furthermore, you have the option to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our data processing of personal data. The data protection supervisory authority responsible for us is "Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, D-30159 Hanover, Germany".

Incorporation, up-to-dateness and amendment of the privacy policy

By using our app, you agree to the use of data described above. The privacy policy is dated 21 May 2021 and is currently valid. Due to the continuous further development of our app or the implementation of new technologies, it may become necessary to adapt this privacy policy to the current status. Strube D&S therefore reserves the right to change the privacy policy at any time with effect for the future.
